Investment Research Provides Real Answers

By Lilia Germann

For many years, I have actively participated in the achievement of my financial goals by making sound investment decisions. When I first became an investor, my activity was limited to participation in a 401K program and several CD purchases. I met a financial planner that gave me life-changing advice. My new financial planner let me know that my current investment strategy would not be able to provide for me, financially, when I retired. The financial planner let me know that I would only receive $400 per month, starting at age 65, based on my current investments.

I was terribly shocked by this news. I knew I had to make changes immediately. I started working with an investment brokerage, and they began to provide me with their investment research. Their research included financial newsletters, stock market newsletters, and investing newsletters; I actively read each one. Their research didn't provide me with enough information to apply to my investment decisions.

I thought that the investment research lacked forward-thinking. I was dismayed when I realized that their research only paid attention to US economic forces; it did not recognize other elements that could have an effect. The investment research only took a look at conservative, long-term investments. Im not a risky investor, but I dont want to miss out on a great investment just because it has a slightly higher level of risk. To me, it felt as though they only recommended those conservative investments because they were afraid to go out on a limb. That fear must have been caused by their lack of knowledge; I felt it indicated they were doing a lot of guess-work.

I began surfing the web, looking for other alternatives. After days and days of reading other reports and forecasts, I located MyStrategicForecast.com.

My Strategic Forecast offers investment research that is based upon facts. They take many factors into account besides economics when compiling their investment information. For example, one year meteorologists predicted a mild tropical storm season in the Atlantic. This information was taken into account by My Strategic Forecast's stock newsletter when they predicted a slight below average return for different types of home improvement companies. They also showed that historically, an active season follows a mild one. Due to this information I decided to hold onto my stocks to see what the following years storm season would bring. They ended up being right.

By using a historical perspective, My Strategic Forecast is able to provide all the necessary information to tell where the market is headed. I was able to use their forecast abilities to gain even more and build up my portfolio. - 23229

What Is Position Trading? (Part II)

By Ahmad Hassam

As a currency trader, you may be confident that the Euro is indicating overall strength while US Dollar is indicating overall weakness for the coming six months after performing the fundamental analysis on both currencies and economies.

What should be your next step as a position trader? The next step for the position trader would be to open a long position in EUR/USD pair keeping in view the overall strength of Euro and the weakness of US Dollar. This simultaneously provides the position trader with long Euro position and a short US Dollar position.

The long term directional bias has been formed by the position trader on the basis of fundamental analysis. Going long on Euro and at the same time short on US Dollar, this combined trading position fulfills the fundamental outlook of the position trader on both the currencies.

So position trading depends on using fundamental analysis in identifying a profitable position in the currency market. But you still need technical analysis to determine your entry and exit in the market. You will have to use technical analysis in setting up the actual trade. Pinpointing the best time for the trade entry as well as setting risk managed control strategies is best accomplished by using technical analysis.

So the position trading uses fundamental analysis in pairing strength with weakness. Now this concept fits extremely well with the forex markets as all currencies are traded in pairs unlike the stock market or for that matter other financial markets.

Trading forex requires a directional commitment on two currencies for each trade, position trading with the strength/weakness model is the most logical fundamental method for approaching long term forex trading.

You only invest in stocks that go up and down but two stocks can never be paired together in stock trading. You can buy different stocks to diversify your portfolio but can never pair two individual stocks the way you can pair two currencies in forex trading. Buying one currency because it looks like it will become stronger while simultaneously selling another currency because it looks like it will become weaker is a better way to trade as compared to stocks and other financial markets.

What should be your first step to identify a strong/weak pair? Your first step as a position trader should be analyze the Central Bank policy statements, economic growth factors of these countries, global economic news etc to identify the currency with the strongest positive future prospects and the currency with the strongest negative future prospects at a given point in time. You will have to do fundamental research and analysis on all major currency pairs as a position trader.

You will have to study all the major currencies like US Dollar, Euro, British Pound, Swiss Franc and the Japanese Yen. Suppose you identify GBP and USD as the strongest loser currencies by performing fundamental analysis while EUR and CHF as the strongest gainer currencies in the foreseeable future. Possible currency pairs for position trading could be long EUR/USD, long CHF/USD, short GBP/EUR and short GBP/CHF.

After this, you can enter the trades with the help of technical analysis and hold them as long as they move in the correct direction disregarding minor corrective swings and market noise because the price action is never ever linear. It is always up and down with minor trends superimposed on major trends.

Position trading if done properly can be one of the most effective methods of extracting long term profits from the forex markets. Position trading maybe the most difficult method of approaching forex trading for the beginners! It requires a great deal of patience and faith in ones own analysis to weather the inevitable swings against the trading position. - 23229

Importance of Global Economics in Personal Finance

By Adela Thomas

When Understanding Finance, it is very important that you recognize the pros and cons of any system. This not only is limited to your own system of recognizing what is important to you, but also a much more broad category of finance. You should understand as much as possible about the subject of money in order to really know what the best use of your time and money is.

You can learn all about various things such as monetary policy, the history of money, various currency, reserve currencies, the dollars function in global economics, and the possibility of an international currency, and what role a reserve currency globally has on the economy under various monetary systems.

The world currency refers to which the vast majority of international transactions take place and which serves as the world's primary way of receiving money. In March 2009, as a result of the, have pressed for urgent consideration of a global currency and panel has proposed greatly expanded the reasons for having great supplies of money. The countries of the world, all, require money in some form or the other.

It is undeniable and must be received in order for a country to survive. The world's currency has many faces, and denominations. From the US Dollar to the Israeli Shekel, the colors, the shapes, the varieties are as different as the people of the world. The currency that is used the most has to be the US Dollar. Some of the currency that is in the world today is as a piece of art, beautiful, sometimes not the value of the paper printed, but still a work of art.

One of the reasons the dollar is so valuable, is because it has reserve status. The Bretton Woods agreement called for a reserve currency around the world that would be held by all for stability. At the time, the dollar was 100% backed by silver and gold, however as it stands, it has lost that security. Fortunately for the world economy, the US government has shown its ability to produce and deal with periods of instability.

Unfortunately the danger that we are approaching is that the US may lose its status as a superpower as China continues to grow its economy and other nations around the world continue to grow. This should be a concern to your personal finances because if the dollar loses its reserve currency status, that means that the dollar will lose value, while things like gold, oil, precious metals and other commodities will maintain their value, increasing their value when priced in dollars - 23229

The origins of trading come from a process named bartering. The barter process is simply an exchange of goods. In the early times, one would trade an apple, for argument sake, to get a potato in return.

In today's world, trading has taken a far more advanced approach compared to its traditional counterpart. Trading over the years has evolved in such a way that it not only constitutes of goods and services but goes far beyond that. This market is called the Forex market and deals in different foreign currencies of the world. It is the biggest financial market to date with up to US$ 3.5 Trillion traded per day. A staggering number that by far surpasses all the existing financial markets combined together.

Millions of dollars are traded by major corporations daily. These companies form part of the wholesale market and comprises of banks and big hedge funds. They have the power to move the market from one direction to the other due to the large volume and amount of money traded on every single position taken. Those moves usually results in currencies going up and down in any single day thus changing the quotes of each currency throughout the day. The change in quotes most likely relates to profit made or loss incurred.

The forex market tends to be more attractive than most of the existing markets on the planet. The reason being is because the forex market is a 24-hour open market. A normal trading day starts in Sydney, then Tokyo, Europe, London and ends up in New York City which is the last market to close for the day.

The most traded pair on the currency market is the major which is made up of the EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/CHF and USD/JPY. The Yen pairs and the Commodity pairs come second on the list. These pairs are the GBP/JPY, EUR/JPY, AUD/USD, USD/CAD and NZD/USD.

My first encounter with forex goes back to when I was in university. I knew nothing about the forex market and the way it operated. I had a mental blockage at a certain point to how the process of buying and selling a currency could actually work. Well after some research, it all made perfect sense. The world of today is not limited to buying/selling goods and services only but had open its doors to the ability to trade in currencies of other countries too.

Forex traders take advantage of buying and selling currencies they believe will appreciate or depreciate respectively. If they know what they are doing most of the time those appreciation and depreciation will turn out into some nice profit. Good traders make a great living through the process of buying and selling on the market.

Getting involved in the forex market nowadays has never been easier. Though you will need some understanding of the market, it is still easy to get your feet wet and experience firsthand, how the dealing process works.

Below is a rundown of what you will need to get started in forex:

Looks quite easy in hind-sight, right?

It may look simple but before you decide to risk your hard earned money make sure you understand the ins and outs of the forex market. Forex Exchange Be Trendy

By Chris Green

By now, most forex exchange traders should know what "trends" are. The saying " The Trend Is Your Friend" is true for the most part, if you know how to take that saying and apply it. Looking at the trend of your currency pair that you are trading is usually a good start, giving you an indication on the direction of the market. Although it isn't good to follow the trend in all cases, it is a good start to give you an idea of when to trade, and the expected market direction.

In some cases in forex exchange trading, it can be a little difficult figuring out when a good time to follow the trend is and when to take your own intuition on the trade. There are many different world events that can affect your currency values and put a change of direction into the market. A great way to keep up with this is to read current local and global news every day. Being aware of events going on around the world can have a positive influence on your trading intuition.

When working in forex exchange, it is an important aspect to constantly be absorbing information about the market and effecting market news. Not just a short time frame before your making your trades. Preparing for hours, or even days of information and market conditions is usually the best tactic. If you have gone behind a day or two on up to date market conditions and world wide events, chances are your trading skills are also a day or two behind. Most new traders don't realize this and wonder why they are not a successful trader.

As a forex exchange trader, if you constantly are saturating yourself with information about the market, you will find trades to come easier to you. This is because in your mind you are connecting all the information without realizing it completely. It will almost become a second nature. This is where the every day successful traders have an edge over the average trader. They spend most of their spare time absorbing information about the markets and world events.

Sticking to the forex exchange trend is a good starting point, but you need to take your skills beyond that to get the real results you need. Dont be the average trader, and a failing statistic. Become consumed by your trading mindset, and you will be able to become a master. Second guessing yourself can also be a bad move, know your nature, your either good at what you do or average. Which do you want to be? - 23229
