Forex Strategies That Make Currency Trading Profitable

By Gilmore Foster

What are the most profitable currency trading strategies? In my opinion, the one that produces a profit at the least possible risk would be a safe bet. They a variety of forex trading strategies, each governed or controlled by a different set of rules and goals. You will never find one single strategy that works all of the time under all circumstances.

Experience combined with proper training will help you succeed as a currency investor. You need to have a solid foundation under your feet before you start funding your account with large sums of money. Never invest any amount of money that you are not willing to lose.

Trading based on emotions is never advised. Too many beginners get emotional when they see the market fluctuating and make emotional based decisions that cause them to lose money. Others lose by following the wrong advice. You have to learn how the market signals work and use them to your advantage.

More experienced traders use two main strategies to help them make successful trades. They are profit-maximizing and stop loss. The first strategy is mainly used when a trader is seeking to gain the maximum return on their investment. Stop loss keeps an investor from going beyond the bounds of losing money.

Successful traders take many things into account when they are make critical decisions. The initial investment, size of the account, the type of trading platform you are using and global currency factors all affect the performance of your trade. Your experience level will ultimately determine how well you invest based on your experience in trading under all of these influences.

Most traders use a system of leverage as their means of maximizing profits. This way they are able to trade with more money than what their account is funded with. This type of trading is usually provided by forex brokers are only available if you are a client. This can be a profitable way to trade because the funding is usually leveraged at 100:1 meaning that for every dollar put into an account, the trader can borrow $100 from the broker.

Stop loss is a popular strategy used by experienced investors to help minimize risk. Under this strategy, you are allowed to establish a set of rules or stop points based on the market fluctuation of the trade. When the market signals reaches your predetermined stop point, the trading activity stops. You are given full control over the limits you set and no trading will occur once those limits are reached. Always remember that when you are using these strategies, there are no certainties to minimizing risks.

If you are the type of investor that like more control over your investing you may want to consider an automated trading platform. Under this strategy, a trader can set a price of a currency trade and have the system automatically activate once the price point is met.

Automated trading is most often used when you want to automatically enter a trade the market when the currency is more favorable for profits. - 23229

Currency Profile Of British Pound (Part III)

By Ahmad Hassam

UK tends to share a more common set of views with the United States. Economically, the United Kingdom is more free-market oriented than Europe. The United Kingdom cant totally disassociate itself from Europe at the same time, given its history and its geography. The upshot is a currency that is affected by politics at home and on the two continents to which its destiny is so closely related.

The GBP/USD is one of the most liquid currency pairs in the world. 6% of the all the global currency trading involves GBP as either the base or counter currency. The British Pound GBP) is active against the dollar and the euro, offering good opportunities to trade both pairs (GBP/USD and USD/GBP).

GBP is also in the four most traded major currency pairs EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY and USD/CHF in the world. One of the reasons for GBP liquidity is the countrys highly developed capital markets.

Many foreign investors seeking to diversify their investment other than the United States send their funds to the UK. In order to create these investments, foreigners need to convert their local currency into GBP.

GBP had one of the highest interest rates in the developed countries. Although Australia and New Zealand had still higher interest rates but their financial markets are not as well developed as UK. GBP was full of speculators one two years back.

Carry trading was popular with many hedge fund managers. It is a long term fundamental trading strategy. Carry traders would use GBP as the lending currency taking advantage of the high interest rates and would go long against USD, JPY and CHF.

However, the present global financial crisis has taken a heavy toll on the British Banks as well. There have been a number of high profile bankruptcies. UK Treasury had to intervene heavily in the market by pumping money into a number of failing banks in order to stabilize the financial markets.

Interest rates have been lowered. An exodus of carry traders took place that increased volatility in GBP with the lowering of the interest rates. Interest rate differentials between UK gilts/US Treasuries is a barometer for GBP/USD flows and UK gilts/German Bunds is a barometer for EUR/GBP flow. These interest rate differentials are widely watched by the professional forex traders to judge where the money will flow between US, UK and EU.

Will UK join EMU? This is an important question that still can determine the long term fundamentals of GBP. Indications on adopting the Euro usually put negative pressure on GBP while further opposition to Euro boosts GBP. The three month eurosterling futures reflect market expectations on UK interest rates three months into the future and can help predict fluctuations of GBP/USD.

GBP/USD tends to be more sensitive to the developments in the US economy. GBP/USD is more liquid than EUR/USD. However, EUR/GBP is the leading gauge for GBP strength. EUR/GBP is more pure fundamental pound trade as EU is the UK primary trading and investment partner. GBP has positive correlation with the energy prices. - 23229

Want To Trade Stocks Or Forex- Know The Difference

By Rakesh Tambe

In present times all of us understand the concept of trading weather it is stock trading or currency trading. In the forex market the value of one currency is compared to another. If the value of one increases compared to the other then that currency is said to be performing better. Most people who trade stocks think that they understand the finance markets well. Though trading forex can become viable option for a stock trader but he must learn the differences between stock and currency trading.

You can start trading forex with Fap Turbo. This is an automated currency trading robot and makes money without you having to do anything.

Currency trading is done in a different way than stocks and futures. While the stock markets are regulated by the exchange and have a particular governing body in every country, there is no such control over currency trading. There is no government authority to govern the trades. Therefore the arbitration cannot exist if a dispute
arises in a currency trade. In essence, the forex market works on the trust between traders and trades are made as mutual agreements.

The mutual agreement that exists in the forex market actually makes it a fair trading platform than the stock market which is more organized. As the traders depend on each other to make trades so they must also trust each other. They rely on each other for their trading and all the traders work closely with others and at the same time they also try to win their trades as compared to others.

The second key feature that separates the currency trading from the stock market is to take advantage of the inside information from the contacts in the industry or business. While using such information is restricted by law in the stock market, you can use it freely in the currency trading. You can position yourself for gains if you know certain facts in advance. Ironically, this insider news and facts are leaked to the traders in forex market days before making them public.

Stocks and futures are traded through a broker who makes a nice commission on the transaction. Currency trading markets do not use commissions, so the investor must know this fact. For this very fact, currency trading might not be the first choice for the novice trader. You can start your portfolio with some solid standing stocks while working with a broker, and then slowly start diversifying after gaining some
market knowledge and some basic financial education. Once you are ready for currency trading, know the same simple rules that apply to all trades: know your market, know your limits and understand the risks involved.Only invest the money that you can afford to lose and won't need for the period of investment.

The most useful tool in currency trading is the automated trading robots or expert advisors (EA). These are computer programs that can trade automatically without you lifting a finger. Fap Turbo has become the most profitable robot in the market beating all its peers. This is the easiest to set-up and claims to double your money every month. - 23229

Commodity Futures Trading - How To Reduce Risk And Aim For Success

By Joseph Archibald

If you are reasonably new to commodity future trading then do keep in mind that there a number of things that can go terribly wrong - there is a large risk factor here. With this in mind its wise to risk only the capital you can afford to lose and nothing more. Do not borrow as I have done myself. Too much risk to take - believe me!

The key thing to keep in mind is to risk only that money you can afford to lose. Online commodity futures trading is not about rushing to make the biggest gains possible and then retire.

Commodity trading though is still risky. Ideally you should reduce your risk and exposure and therefore the main thing is to only limit your investment to the amount of money you could afford to lose.

Many commodity traders, particularly those that are fairly new to the business, try to utilize too much leverage. As an example of this lets take 100 ounces of gold as a contract with a value of $1000 an ounce. Total value is $100,000. The margin (deposit) will probably be around 10% of the value of the contract, thus $10,000.

Now this is where the problems begin to arise. A commodity trader who is being bullish on gold may think its a good time to buy into 10 gold contracts at a cost of $100,000 to their trading account. So if the price of gold were to move to $1100 an oz. then all is well and the money in the traders account doubles.

But if the price of gold were to reduce by that $100 an oz. and provide the trader with a value of $900 an oz. then the trader would be wiped out unless they were in a position to meet a margin call from their broker and place further funds into their account.

With this sort of exposure in the market we could end up with serious losses. Its all very well to see things very positively and continue to believe in profit after profit. But at the same time we need to be realistic and know that there will be times when we hit a few losses. As such we need to have the funds available to deal with the losses.

So the basics to be aware of if you are just setting out with your commodity future trading then take it easy - do not rush to make lots of money as you will most probably end up being over exposed and therefore open to some hefty account losses. Its best to learn with experience, but while you are learning do think about tomorrow and keep enough funds available for times when things take a downturn. - 23229
